Flowing through their veins are Argentina and Sicily, Pisa and Livorno… and even a touch of Bosnia.
Their hearts beat to the rhythm of Afro-American claves, somewhere between cumbia and son, MPB and bossa nova…
And their adolescent dreams—always ready for a comeback—are filled with rock and psychedelia, singer-songwriter poetry and literature.
SuRealistas are a true band, like those of days gone by. No frontman: their symbol isn’t a pyramid, but a circle—capable of embracing many ideas, many voices, and many colors.
“Life is the art of encounter,” said Vinícius de Moraes—and from the meeting of many dreams was born the dream of the SuRealistas, filled with original songs deeply rooted in South American tradition.
After numerous European tours (across France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Spain, Albania, Austria, the Czech Republic, North Macedonia, and Hungary), four albums of original music (SuRealistas in 2016, Canta in 2018, Ritmo Animal in 2020, and La Vuelta in 2024), and five music videos (Canta, Vida mía, Perro Desobediente, Metegol, and Sacalo Afuera), the SuRealistas’ priorities are clear: to keep their eyes wide open to the world and their feet always ready to dance.
This is the key to their realism—magical and surreal—where Sur doesn’t just mean South America, but also the global South: the margins, the minorities, the diverse, a nature on the brink of collapse, and a world uncertain of its direction.
